A slice can be one of the most frustrating issues for golfers, but with the right approach, it’s totally fixable. Here are a few tips to straighten out your shots and get more consistency off the tee:
-
Check Your Grip – A weak grip often leads to an open clubface at impact, causing the ball to slice. To strengthen your grip, rotate both hands slightly clockwise on the club (for right-handed golfers). This helps square the face during your swing.
-
Ball Position – Make sure the ball isn’t too far forward in your stance. If it’s too far up, your clubface might stay open. Move the ball back just a bit to get more control.
-
Swing Path – A slice usually comes from an outside-to-in swing path. Focus on swinging the club on an inside-to-out path. Imagine hitting the inside part of the ball to encourage a straighter shot.
Practice these tips, and you’ll soon be slicing less and hitting more fairways!
Happy Golfing!
